So it looks like William’s started collecting nuts. The kid has cheeks that would make any granny with blue hair snap her fingers in anticipation.

It does also seem that my sister is going to have kids with brown eyes. Not that I’m bitter at all….:)

jon and mia engaged!

My beautiful cousin Mia and her lovely man Jon had their engagement party on the weekend. As of today I’m still sore and dragging my decrepid body around from the dancing. I love the nightlife, I love to boogie.

We had such a great night and the booth was a big (and rather lively) hit. Here’s one of them cutting the cake, shot in the dark on super sonic iso…

And of them from the booth that I think is lover-ly. They’re so difficult on the eye, aren’t they?

But Jesus called the children to him and said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these”. Luke 18:16

happy un-birthday to me.

Posted on April 24, 2009

Yesterday I got a “something special” as the kids call it. I went and picked up my 5D Mark 2. Yay.(I was doing one of those quiet squeals there).

There was nothing much on the agenda today so I had time to fiddle and get used to my new toy. For me, having a new camera is sort of like getting your hair cut off. It’s exciting because it’s different but it takes you a while to get used to it.

After we dropped Isaac off at school, we stopped in at Nanna’s to say hello. Cassidy watched Play School on the lounge; ladylike little petal that she is.

Then we came home and Cassidy “helped” mum put on the washing, write some emails and clean out the pantry. She also let me have five minutes play with my toy. This pic was taken on some ridiculously high iso, slow shutter speed and low light (in lamens terms, bad for photos!)Yay again.

Nanna picked up Isaac from school and we met them and Aunty Em and William at the park. In a weak moment, I decided to take Toby along. Isaac was thrilled. Here’s a pic of Isaac and Toby’s…..rather oversized tounge.

William liked having a picnic and was happy to have boobies al fresco.

William with his personal and dedicated “make me smile” team. Obviously, they just weren’t cutting it.

A happy un-eventful day. Aren’t they the best kind?

snow angel.

Posted on April 17, 2009

The devious deeds of The Labradoodle continue. Each day it’s just a matter of time until something is destroyed. Our yard resembles a battlefield; remnants of Toby’s victims lay strewn haphazardly on the lawn (as a side note, the word “lawn” summons visions of lush green grass – ours is more of a mixed yellowish green and brown stubble with a few prickle patches and green ant nests thrown in). No stone is left unturned with Toby, in fact many a stone has been turned in order for him to destroy the barbecue cover, toys and stray shoes. The vet says it will take time. Steve thinks it will take time, a labradoodle sized hole and a delivery of concrete.

Toby is fast running out of objects to destroy as anything out there is nailed down or fenced off. The only thing he could get his paws on last night was his bean bag bed. Obviously, it was a threat to his reign on the backyard and had to go.

Cassidy came in this afternoon scattering small polystyrene balls in her wake. I said what have you been doing. She said “I was making snow angels”. Of course she was. And of course I asked her to show me. Steve got this one of us all giving the snow angel gig a go. Meanwhile Toby jumped all over us having a great time and no doubt congratulating himself on a job well done.

easter snappity snaps.

easter

Clockwise from top left: boys chatting about boy things; Cassidy terrorising small creatures; relatives terrorising William (note the outstretched hands ready for the next cuddle!); Isaac sampling dessert and declaring it a winner.

Will looking very bright eyed and bushy tailed :)

When not terrorising small animals, she terrorises small cousins.
(The stitches are from a recent unfortunate meeting between Cassidy and a glass table).

A “quick-we-need-a-photo-for-Will’s-dedication-next-weekend” mini shoot.
Will thought Easter and relatives were overrated by this stage and was not.going.to.smile.

And a few of the “other” child. The one not so under my feet and therefor escaping more
pictures with mummy. I am a sucker for those big blue eyes…..
and he’s looking more and more like his daddy every day.

Isaac took this one of me. And a whole lotta others that were out of focus :) He much prefers being behind the camera and I nearly peed my pants when he lay down on his back and started shooting up from different angles, saying “come on mum, do some posing! Put your hand on your hip! Oh yeah!!”, then proceeded to laugh hysterically at himself. One thing he’s definately learnt from his father is if no-one else laughs – you can still laugh at yourself. Very self-preserving but somewhat disturbing.

bunny beware.

Posted on April 11, 2009

The sign was dictated to me at bedtime tonight.

We can’t have any unauthorised over-sized rabbits hopping around our rooms willy nilly at night, now can we?

The bucket is outside the door and the covers are over her head to block out any un-wanted rabbit sightings. Isaac tried to improve the situation by telling her it’s just a man in a suit and can we just go to bed so morning comes quicker and we can have chocolate.

The stone’s been rolled away! A happy and blessed Easter to all, love from the Austins xoxo

cassidy’s dvd hits 2009

Posted on April 8, 2009

Topping the charts is still Tinkerbell, although it does tie with Charlie and Lola quite often.
Then we have Madagascar, always a favourite; the line “just smile and wave boys” is a daily event in this house.
Running a close third lately is the Aristocats, or as Cassidy calls them “The Risky Cats”.

Talking cats. Very risky indeed.

Isn’t it really very pretty.

Posted on April 3, 2009

I think so!

My blog has a new house – www.inhousestudios.com.au/threeloves so update your bookmarks now (I mean you, mum!)

It’s rather exciting to have all this new-ness I must say. Sort of like getting your hair done, but better cause you don’t do new websites every six weeks or so.

Huge thanks to the clever Kylie, the wordpress master, who set it all up for me. Even huge-er thanks to Steve who stayed strong when I couldn’t get things to work and talked me out of deleting the whole thing. I can safely declare I know more about html now than I ever wished to know.

It has been such a crazy few weeks – if you take a look around my new site you can probably figure out why, but I am so happy and proud to say the new website is done, and it is, as Isaac would say – sweet as. I am a bit sad to give up some of the pretty bits of my old site, but I love the way the new one keeps all the bits of me together and is so easy to manage and update. Being very new there could be some bugs or dead links etc – I’d love you to send me an email if you find anything a bit dodgy.

We’re taking our brand new ‘In the Booth’ to the Queensland Brides Wedding starting today. If you want to drop by and see us, come on doooowwn. We’ll be the two physically exhausted people downing Red Bull and propping ourselves up on one another. Friday from 5.30-9pm, Saturday from 10am-5pm and Sunday from 10am-4pm.

If anyone feels like leaving a comment at anytime, just click on the speech bubble under each post (a clever idea of Kylie the Blog masters’). No more google accounts or logging in to leave a comment…just post away and it should remember your details for next time.

Don’t worry Mum, the posts from the old blog will be copied over….let’s just say it wasn’t a priorty before we went live at 3am this morning.

Pics are from our spunky new booth and are me with two of my nearest and dearest, Sheye and Jen.  Women that, along with our parents and my incredibly incredible husband, I would not have got all this done without.

I’m off to lie down in a darkened room and sip something strong for a while :) xo
